Block Nine Variations

I’m just finishing up quilting and finishing the Halloween version of the Poison Bottle Quilt. But I can’t show it off just yet! Here’s June’s block as consolation. I had fun with my Halloween variation this month.

I used a cute spidery Halloween novelty fabric for the bluetop flagon. Instead of the label on the pattern, I used an oval medallion from another novelty fabric for a label.

I fell in love with the peachy moth fabric on ebay and snatched it up. I love all creepy crawlies, especially insects.

I found some fun exotic frog fabric scraps in my scrap box, and decided having a couple of frogs crawling around the quilt amuses me. They are poison dart frogs, after all!

If you haven’t already, please go visit Diane Doran’s blog and see her variation of June’s bottles.  I love both of her interpretations. These patterns are pretty versatile! Everyone comes up with ideas I never thought of! I think you will love them as much as I do!
