I’m so lucky to have friends who have agreed to interpret my designs each month as part of my block of the month quilt-along! My good friend Amalia Morusiewicz aka AtoZ made her versions of block one to share. She used a masking technique and lumiere paint to make two beautiful versions of this design! Please go to her blog and check it out!
Here are my two variations of the Poison Bottle Block of the Month’s Block One-Offset Neck and Flask.
On the Halloween version, I used fun novelty prints on a black and purple background. I stitched around the shapes but left off extra embellishments. I also overlapped the bottles when I fused them onto the background.
For the Modern variation, I used a neutral background and chose fabrics with a bold design. Again, I stitched around the shapes but left off embellishments. This version really emphasizes the silhouettes.
I hope you will try making this block! If you do, I would love to see your version. I have a flickr group for finished blocks, and you are welcome to add your photo!
