18 x 24
cotton fabric, cotton and rayon thread
Machine sewn and quilted
Detail based on the Wayne Gas Pump, one of the few remaining artifacts of the Croom airfield. It remains in the museum’s collections and is undergoing restoration. As soon as I saw it on display last year, I wanted to make its “portrait.”
I used rust-dyed and hand-dyed fabric to convey its distinct personality. I bought two large pieces of beautifully rust-dyed fabric from an artist on etsy.
Stay tuned on the blog. I’ll be highlighting one of my aviation quilts each day for the month of April.
All quilts are for sale. Contact me for sales information.
If you can’t attend my exhibition in person, I do have catalogs for sale on amazon.
