Aviation Quilt: Ticker Tape Parade

Ticker Tape Parade

12 x 16

cotton fabric, cotton and rayon thread, brads, buttons, fabric paint

Machine sewn and quilted, hand embellished

This portrait of three propellers was one of the last ones I made for this exhibit. The unusual pattern in the background fabric I chose put me in mind of Victory Day parades.

I used metal brads(found in the scrapbooking section of the craft store) to add some details, and the metal buttons on one propeller took out a sewing machine needle during the quilting process! Mind those embellishments, quilters. They’ll put your eye out!

Here is a snap of me in front of the museum’s propeller display. Isn’t it amazing?

Stay tuned on the blog. I’ll be highlighting one of my aviation quilts each day for the month of April.

All quilts are for sale. Contact me for sales information.

If you can’t attend my exhibition in person, I do have catalogs for sale on amazon.
