Aviation Quilt: Two Propellers

Two Propellers

12 x 16

cotton fabric, cotton and rayon thread, sequins, beads, fabric paint

Machine sewn and quilted, hand embellished

This design is a detail of a black walnut propeller (one half of a four blade prop) and an ERCO “Compreg” propeller made of laminated layers of wood, fabric and adhesives. As on “Monumental,” I added sequins and beads to portray the texture on the metal sheath. The wood grain fabrics are marbled. I added some paint details with the same printing materials I used on “First Propeller.”

Stay tuned on the blog. I’ll be highlighting one of my aviation quilts each day for the month of April.

All quilts are for sale. Contact me for sales information.

If you can’t attend my exhibition in person, I do have catalogs for sale on amazon.
