Poison Bottle BOM Block Eleven Variations

I am honored to have Cheryl Sleboda of muppin.com as my guest artist of the month. She introduced me to a new kind of glass and it is fascinating!  Be sure and go visit her blog to see her variation of this month’s block.

My amazing friend Terri who blogs over at Quilts from the Heart  made this month’s block. She used bobbin drawing to make a really unique block, and she embellished it even further with paint. Check it out!

Since I chose such a dark print for the tall bottle, I did the satin stitch around the outside in a bright gold to help it stand out from the background. The background is my absolute favorite Moda grunge.

I put another poison dart frog on this Halloween block. He’s just so cute, I couldn’t resist!

I embroidered the mouth on the skull with DMC embroidery floss to give it a little more dimension.

I hope you will give this month’s block a try! Til September…
